Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained for my Massage Therapy License at Chattanooga Massage Institute, located in Hixson, TN from Fall 2016 - Spring 2017. I have worked as a Licensed Massage Therapist at Chattanooga Massage Institute and most recently at A Better You Day Spa & Salon, located in Chattanooga, TN.
I received her certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage from LMT Success Group, training under Dr. Christopher Jordan, DDC. I have been practicing Manual Lymphatic Drainage since April 2018.
In addition to massage therapy, I am also a trained chiropractic therapy assistant and caregiver. I worked under Dr. Michael Wolff Sr. and Dr. Michael Wolff Jr. at Wolff Chiropractic Center from September 2017 - September 2019. As a caregiver, I served various roles, both in the private sector and with an agency. Most of my work focused around patients with dementia and end of life caregiving.

How did you get started in this business?
I got started in massage therapy due to some chronic ailments of my own. I thought the practice of massage and environment would be a good fit for someone with chronic migraines and gastroparesis - low lighting, no screens, less stress = less flare-ups. I soon found in my practice that I had a big heart and great empathy for what my clients were going through. I, myself, became diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2018 and had to learn self-care techniques and how to function best to minimize flare-ups.
I have an "inside track" of what I am looking for to help relieve pain and tension in massages with chronic illness issues because I live it. There's also the realization that there's often times not a "fix" for what's happening to my clients but there is relief - and sometimes that's a lot more than what they're getting from their medication regime or physical therapy.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with clients that range from "just wanting to relax and unwind" to aches and pains from old injuries. I don't take stress lightly when I massage someone needing to "just relax". Stress leads to tightened muscles that can lead to chronic issues in the tissue and create or feed other health problems. I have clients that have chronic conditions such as rhematoid arthritis (RA), fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and migraines that all benefit greatly from gentle deep tissue massage or manual lymphatic drainage.
