Essential Balance Massage LLC
About
We are different than the typical Swedish style massage. I trained as a doctor in China, so I incorporate my knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tai Chi into my techniques for massage. I utilize these Chinese techniques to help my clients achieve balance and feel better.
I come from a family of physicians, and I was a physician in China. I have spent my life in one way or another taking care of people. I don't like to see people uncomfortable or in pain, and I am proud to be part of the process to help them feel better and achieve balance.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I meet with a new customer, I like to set aside time to thoroughly discuss their concerns and goals. I use this time to evaluate what style will best benefit my client, and answer any questions they might have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked as a licensed Traditional Chinese Medical doctor, Cardiologist, Radiologist and owned my internal medicine clinic when I lived in China for 30 years. Chinese medicine treats the body as a whole, so massage is a part of that medical training.
I have also studied massage therapy here in the United States, and am a graduate of Baltimore School of massage.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We list many different styles of massage therapy services on our website. Overall, we customize your massage to your needs. Many clients choose this style of service and we charge $70 for an hour, and $90 for 90 minutes. Shorter or longer sessions are available. If you dint see what you are looking for, please ask!
How did you get started in this business?
I started in medicine over 30 years ago in a different country. When I came to the U.S. over 15 years ago, I didnt know how to transfer my medical license. I wasn't happy being in any field where I wasnt helping people. My wife enrolled me in massage school so in her words "I could get back to what I do best. Help people. "
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many different types of customers. Our client base consists of people that are looking to find balance, recovering from surgery, looking for adjunct therapy, chiropractic or physical therapy follow up and of course to relax.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My best advice would be to ask any questions you might have, so you can feel comfortable during your session. Results are not just the work of the therapist, but also the client.
As an example, if you aren't happy with the music played during your session, just ask if you can bring a playlist! We offer headphones if so desired, or can create a YouTube playlist for your session.
