About

I have helped hundreds of families with practical solutions for making life feel less overwhelming. I provide adults and children a blended approach to self-care through providing clients coping skills they can walk away with after every session, as well as digging deeper to figure out the root cause of what has you truly feeling the way you do.

It is always an honor to hear other's stories and be invited into intimate details of a person's life. I enjoy getting to know my clients and watching them grow into the parents and individuals they seek to be.

Frequently asked questions

Below is a step-by-step outline of what to expect for your telehealth sessions and the best way to prepare to get the most from your sessions.

Step One: Booking a Consultation

Prior to working with a therapist, it is customary to have a phone call to ensure that the therapist and client are compatible to work together. This is a time to give a brief overview to your therapist about what you would like to work on and a chance to ask questions you might have. This call is usually around 15 minutes and is not completed over video conferencing software unless requested.

Step Two: Preparing for Your First Session

Prior to your first session, you will receive a calendar invite and an email with a link to a Google Meet. Google Meets are HIPPA compliant with a G-Suite subscription, so you don’t have to worry about your personal information being compromised. Google Meets allows us to connect with clients without having them download additional software and experience potential lag time.

Step Three: Completing Your First Session

It is important that prior to logging on for your first session, you secure a quiet place without distractions to work with your therapist. If you live with others, you should notify them that you will be unavailable and try and arrange childcare. If you ever have to bring your kids to sessions, NO WORRIES! Remember, I specialize in working with caregivers and parents and understand. I just want you to be comfortable.

In your first session, you will review and sign the necessary forms to work with your therapist. This visit will also establish a treatment plan, which will be a roadmap for the work to come. Teletherapy works best with a video camera on, but any situation can be accommodated.

Step Four: Completing Your Treatment

In the sessions that follow, you and your therapist will work on your treatment goals. The length of treatment will be determined by the therapist and the client. The treatment plan is reviewed at a minimum every six months.

I began my professional career as a Paralegal in the Denver metro area and had the chance to work with some of the most talented attorneys in the state on an array of legal matters. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Political Science. After starting a family, I realized my truest passion was to serve parents, children, and families and I went back to school yet again.

I received a Master's degree in Social Work from Metropolitan State University with a concentration in Child Welfare. I transitioned my legal career to the public sector and spent time working in nonprofits, government, and school settings. I have primarily served caregivers, parents, individuals with disabilities, and children. I identified a gap in services related to supporting parents and caregivers and found that I connected on a personal level with this clientele and decided to offer my services through this private practice.

While my formal education provides the authority to practice psychotherapy, I draw upon my own experience as a mother of three, aged baby to teen, two biological and one adopted, and all of the real-world education parenting brings. My approach to parenting is that there are no perfect solutions, but there are things that help—most of which include laughing along the way.

I have a sliding scale that starts at just $30 dollars per session. My sliding scale takes into account annual income and the number of individuals in your household.

Look for a therapist that you click with. Therapy works best when you get along with the therapist.
