Frequently asked questions

If you are a new patient our initial acupuncture consultation and treatment includes an in-depth explanation of how Chinese medicine works in general, and specifically how it can benefit you. An expansive health history overview and diagnostic questioning will be taken. An acupuncture treatment catered to your needs will be given while you unwind on a heated treatment table, listen to relaxing music and breathe in soothing aromatherapy. Nutritional consultation and lifestyle recommendations are also included as well as an herbal consultation if appropriate. Massage therapy is also available and can be combined with other modalities. Please arrive to your appointment 15 minutes early to fill out new patient paperwork if unable to download or print Your First Visit Forms ahead of time. Payment is due at time of treatment, including co-payments. If applicable, please bring records of any medications and supplements you take and your insurance card. Please make sure you’ve eaten before receiving your treatment.

Q: How many treatments will I need?

A: That depends on the duration, severity, and nature of your complaint. You may need only a single treatment for an acute condition. A series of 5-10 treatments may resolve many chronic problems. Some degenerative conditions may require many treatments over time. To help reduce the number of treatments, dietary modifications, exercise, relaxation techniques, self-massage, and/or herbal medicines may be recommended. The benefits are cumulative, much like a regular exercise program or healthy diet. The more dedicated you are to regular self-care, the better you will feel and the faster your body will respond.

Kayleen's career is in line with her passions and moral compass and therefore she believes the work she does is heartfelt and meaningful. She loves that her work helps clients find balance and vibrant health within themselves. She personally experienced the power of this medicine after fracturing her femur and recovering twice as fast as the average patient with acupuncture, therapeutic massage, dietary and herbal therapy.

Chinese Medicine is not a one size fits all type of medicine. Patients may find the treatment experience is more personal and therefore it is important to find a practitioner that resonates with you.  What makes my practice unique? Typically, acupuncturists see several patients at one time in multiple treatment rooms. I focus on one patient at a time so the patient gets 100% of my attention. I value patient care more than seeing a large volume of patients. I also am in network with Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and Optum plans making the cost of acupuncture more affordable.

Communicate your needs to your practitioner which might include your physical concerns, apprehension, room temperature, lighting, the pressure used, speed of movement, etc. Your practitioner is a professional dedicated to creating the best experience for you.
