About
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Texas. I specializes in pregnancy massage, swedish massage, lymphatic massage, sports massage, incorporating stretching, deep tissue, myofascial release, and orthopedic massage techniques and hot stone massage. I've been a licensed therapist since 2013.
I previously was employed at Hotel Galvez for 5 years before COVID.
I just reopened my female-owned and operated, small business post-baby and COVID shut down. I have many specials going on right now, a giveaway, and have partnered with other small businesses to create amazing packages with a variety of services.
I offer hot towels to the feet and back during your session and provide the full-service time hands-on, unlike some facilities that take up part of your time to do consultation and allow for clean up between clients. I offer a $5 cash discount.
Please check out my Facebook Page @GalvestonLotusTherapies and my website www.galvestonlotustherapies.com.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After making and confirming the appointment the day before, I have an intake form for clients to fill out. I ask that clients please arive 5 to 10 minutes early to fill out the one time form, use the facilities, and take a calming breath before their service. I have water and Tea available for the clients prior to the session while they fill out their form to help them relax. Once the form is completed, we review it and talk about goals for their session as well as anything noteworthy on their intake form. Once all questions are asked and answered by the client and myself, we start the massage session.

How did you get started in this business?
My journey to discover Massage Therapy as a passion started in 2008. My mother had open-heart surgery in 2007. Her recovery was rough due to diabetes slowing her healing abilities. With the prolonged healing time and the need to have a wound vac present for months, she developed frozen shoulder. Frozen shoulder is essentially an impingement of muscles in the shoulder girdle. The muscles that have "frozen"/stiffened to the point of immobility can cause a lot of pain and discomfort affecting one's quality of life and well-being. My mother's arm was essentially pinned to her side and could open up only minimally.
Almost two years out from surgery, plateauing in Physical Therapy, she decided to go to a chiropractor. I was already receiving treatment for scoliosis, and she had noticed my significant improvement. The chiropractor partnered with a massage therapist, and one appointment I watched as the therapist worked on my mother’s arm. Not to say the therapist was inexperienced or at fault in any way, but as I watched him, I intuitively felt his methods were providing insufficient care for my mother. His motions and strokes only pushed the muscles in the direction they already were pinned. I felt I could do better.
That night when my mother and I got home, I asked her if I could try something. I had no experience other than “rubbing” family when they were in pain, and I knew that I enjoyed it as well. I strongly felt the therapist was ineffective, and I wanted to try my hand at it, even if I didn't have the vocabulary or experience to describe what I was doing.
After working on her with my limited knowledge and skill set for an hour on my twin bed, I felt like I had done all I could do. My mother was tired because of what she endured - frozen shoulder is excruciating at some points when working with muscle that will not move and is inflamed. Upon completion, She sat up and we did a "test" to see her range of motion.
As she raised her arms, her face winced, anticipating the point at which she had been conditioned to feel pain. changed into a joyful smile as her arm kept going! She had full range of motion! She and I both had our celebratory hug and essentially both decided then that this is what I was meant to do and going to do.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of customers.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
When looking for a massage therapist, know that everyone is different. Every client and every therapist. You never know if you're a match till you try them.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Consider years of experience, credentials, and what got them into massage therapy.
