Luminary Counseling
About
My approach is beneficial in your day-to-day existential crisis. My clients are creative, introspective individuals looking to answer the question "what am I doing with my life?". They know that vulnerability pays off and they are willing to try to "go there" with me. Therapy sucks because you're no longer avoiding your pain - you're sitting with it and saying "I see you, I hear you, I'm going to try to help you", and I want to support you through this process.
I am Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, supervised by Jennifer Buffalo, LPC-S, LMFT. I have a master's in counseling psychology from the University of Kansas.
I get to have real conversations with people about what matters to them and how they became who they are. I have the best job in the world.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Clients will start with a FREE phone or in-person consultation where we talk a little about what's going on and see if I would be a good person to help. If we both feel it's a good fit, we will discuss fees (I offer sliding scale payments) and our schedule to come.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Southwestern University and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. I have received special training in Gottman Couple's Therapy, DBT, and Eating Disorder Assessment. I am currently licensed as an LPC-Intern, supervised by Jennifer Buffalo, LPC-S, LMFT.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I offer sliding scale services between $70- $100.
How did you get started in this business?
I love learning about everything, but psychology and neuroscience are the most interesting things to me. I knew I wanted to be in a field where I form close connections with people, and counseling became the perfect fit.
Each person has a unique lense with which they view the world; our experiences shape that. We are all so very different, and yet we are bound by the same strong emotions and patterns of behavior. I love the human connection that is formed through vulnerability and a willingness to understand.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked primarily with college students and young adults.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find someone who you feel you can be yourself with!

What are your goals in counseling? What has worked before and what hasn't?
