Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have an online scheduler where folks can sign up on their own or contact me directly to get on the schedule. At the appointment time, I check in about history and current needs for therapeutic massage if this had not yet occurred and create a plan of action for the session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Attending massage school in 2002, I have focused much of my continuing education on Thai Massage as well as Energy Healing practices, including Reiki, Polarity Therapy, Cranio-Sacral work, and Flower Essence studies. I like to have a broad range of skills in my tool box and spend time delving into personal reading and practice studies that relate to the body in a myriad of ways. There’s always more to learn and it is all applicable in some ways.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
$80 for 1 hour massage, $105 for 90 minutes, $120 for a 90 minute Thai massage and about $20 for add-on services. Check out Andra.massagetherepy.com for more info!
How did you get started in this business?
I have been massaging folks since I can remember. Family members, teammates, co-workers and others somehow always knew I could get the kink out of their shoulder or back. I thought everyone was able to do this and when I found out there was a school where you could learn to do it for everyBody, I was hooked and focused on mind/body work as my vocation.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types! I have worked in spas and clinics and in my own practice for many years. It has taught me how the body and tensions work and how to address a problem efficiently and effectively.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have been to Thailand a few times to study with my teacher there. I live to travel and went to San Miguel de Allende this past January. I’m dreaming up a summer trip during these cold winter days!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Try them out! You can read all about their practice and studies, but will never really know how their work will work for you until you have had a session with them.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What are your current issues? What issues have led to the current state of tension in the body? “Old” injuries can affect us even more as we age, or are growing, so sharing these episodes are helpful- tho in all likelihood, the injury you forgot all about will be revealed:).
