Rachel Richards Massage
I am a New York State Licensed and Board Certified massage therapist, offering skilled therapeutic neuro-musculoskeletal and fascial bodywork, and orthopedic manual therapy since 2008. I help people seeking chronic or acute pain relief, increased flexibility, relaxation, or overall well-being. I graduated from the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy in New York City, and am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. I have extensive bodywork experience and have treated over a thousand clients.
I hold advanced certifications in medical, sports, prenatal, and myoskeletal therapy with a specialization in pain and posture. I primarily help people who suffer from chronic pain, sports- and work-related injuries, or have post-surgical pain or complications. My #1 goal is to free you of your pain so that you can perform your day-to-day activities with ease. I focus on improving alignment and balance and optimizing range of motion to help you move freely, without pain or restrictions.
My work is client-centered, and my treatments are created to meet my client's specific goals. A thorough health history, consultation, and assessment are performed at the first session in order to figure out how to proceed with a personalized treatment plan. In addition, I offer client-specific corrective exercises and stretches that can be performed in between sessions in order to maximize the therapeutic effects of the treatment.
My massage work is conveniently located in the middle of Manhattan (in the East Village / Gramercy / Stuyvesant / Union Square area). I look forward to helping you feel your best!
