Johanna's Bio

I've been interested in and have studied the subject of health and holistic well-being for many years, with twenty-five years of professional experience practicing "Ohashiatsu". I have been studying meditation, health, and body movement since 1997 and graduated in 2001 from the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy in New York City. In 2014, I became a "Certified Ohashiatsu Instructor" (COI).

I hold a Yoga Teaching Certificate from the Integral Yoga Institute, awarded in 2011, and have been an active participant in the contact-improvisation dance scene during the 80s and 90s in the East Village, at PS 122. I am a firm believer in therapeutic and somatic healing through movement, with an excellent understanding of what people need, especially when it comes to body and mind- centered awareness and spirituality.

About my Practice -

My principal method of practice is now Core Energetics, a method that integrates touch and bodywork.

I offer individual sessions, and I am a Core Energetics practitioner in my 2 year of training.

This approach is experimental and dynamic, and often evokes powerful bodily experiences through physical, emotional, and spiritual exercises, which are designed to restore energetic integrity to your system.

The goal of the work is to increase, self-knowledge, groundedness, personal empowerment, honest communication, relationship and sexual-awareness, and the experience of living with a deeper sense of embodiment and an open-heart.

CORE ENERGETICS is an integrated method, created by Dr. John Pierrakos, M.D., that works with: Body/Emotions/Mind/Will/and Spirit.
