About this pro

I am Alice Amorim, massage therapist for 9 years and I have an extensive experience acumulated through of years providing massages.

I am very focused on my clients needs and I do not measure efforts to help them. I can provide an excellent relaxation session, as well as, I can be very specific focusing on area, injury or muscle using my different techniques and skills.

I am a NJ Licensed Massage Therapist , a Certified Medical Massage and Certified Reiki Practitioner.

My passion is help people and I have been worked in spas, hospital, physical therapy and chiropractic offices. Now I am running my  business in Avenel, NJ, but I still working at a spa in Westfield, NJ.

You can visit my facebook page Alice Amorim Massage Therapy or Instagram aliceamorimtherapy, where I share informations about massage, health, nutrition, exercises ,etc. I like to educate my clients about health and well-being.

I think I am blessed helping people. Most of my clients have serious conditions as cancer or diseases that affect drastically their lives.

Alleviate pain , suffering or simply stress is all that I can expect from my work. If this doesn't happen , I will feel frustrated.

I am feel so glad when I can see a smile on my client face at the session end.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

In my  first contact by phone, e-mail or text  , I will ask to the client few questions to know the reason why he is looking for my services ; which modalitie of massage he would like to book and availability. I usually send the Intake form by e-mail to be filled out home one or two days before the session.

The client should arrive 10 min before the session when I will do complementary questions and I will listen his complains.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated at Anthem Institute in Jersey City, NJ with 820 hours and honors in 2011. I have extra 250 hours Medical Massage Certificate, Oncology Certificate and I am Certified Reiki Practitioner Level I and II.

I have various others certificates in my Continuing Education specially the Hospital Based Massage Therapist for Seriously Ill Patients from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC.

My last Certificate was in Gastron Technique that treats a soft tissue dysfunction using stainless steel instruments. The Gastron Technique allows a faster recovery than traditional manual therapy.

I am also skilled in Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

My price to my  Relaxation Massage is $60.00 for 60 min hands on.

Price may be different according with massage modalities.

What types of customers have you worked with?

My clientele include people with all ages, inclusive children, teenage and pregnant clients.

They have different conditions and diseases as cancer, fibromyalgia, arthritis, lime disease, herniated and bulging discs, scoliosis, kyphosis, sciatiaca, rotator cuff injuries, tendonitis, hip and knee replacement.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

My advice is always look for a Licensed Massage Therapist and feel comfortable to make questions to the therapist. To find a Massage Therapist is the same process to find a doctor, because there are many modalities of massage .

If you are looking for only relaxation is like you are looking for a physician, but if you have special conditions or diseases, you need to look for a specialist. You should make sure if the Massage Therapist has experience to treat that condition or has an extra Certificate.
