Moving Body Massage
About
Moving Body Massage Therapy exists to provide clients with a qualified and well trained therapist who will work with them to provide relaxation and relief, and also to help them gain a better understanding of their own bodies and what they can do to maintain their bodies’ health and centering. Each massage is tailored to the client’s needs and presenting conditions, using deep tissue massage and other modalities, with an overall goal to treating the whole person.
I've been a therapist for 13 years, and I incorporate deep tissue, cupping, and other modalities to treat my clients, and continue to study new healing methods.
i look forward to working with you.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For each new session I do a comprehensive intake with the client. Basic medical history and information on injuries and chronic issues. We then tailor the session to the clients needs. I take notes after so that we can continue to work on issues in future sessions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed the comprehensive training program at Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, DC in 2008. I have taken different continuing education classes to deepen and broaden my skill sets.
I visited Thailand 4 years ago and got a certification in foundational Thai massage, which i offer to clients as an alternative to my regular table work.
I studied with and became an assistant to S.Gilmartin a Modern Cupping Therapy practitioner and writer of the new book on Cupping therapy. I use cupping in my work to great affect, as it is a wonderful compliment to the manual deep tissue work.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My rates are listed on my website. the basic information is this:
At my home studio i charge 85/hr and 120/hr and a half. When i travel i charge 100/hr and 140/hr and a half.
As a solo practitioner I can slide my rates and be accommodating depending on need. And if a client commits to multiple sessions there are some discounts.
How did you get started in this business?
As a professional actor, I had long been fascinated by the power of the body in movement. I attended a physical theater school in Europe, which deepened my exploration of the human body.
When i returned to the states I decided to study massage to apply what i knew about body mechanics to exploring the healing arts. It's been a fascinating combination, body aspects informing the other.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of clients, all genders, orientations, and seen many different kinds of concerns. I am open to working with anyone, and find it essential that the client feels safe and comfortable with me so that we can accomplish more in the sessions to set their bodies on a good path.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently worked on visiting pickle ball players from around the country. It was a fun challenge to treat people from all over with different presenting issues and try to offer them some relief and therapeutic help so that they could play their best.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look to see if the therapist has completed a legitimate education program. See if they have continued to gain skills to apply to their work over the years. Read some reviews on their websites or Yelp/Google listings to get a sense of what previous clients think of them. Have a sense of what YOU are looking to accomplish in the session...for example, if you want a simple relaxing energy session, don't necessarily pick someone who has a deep tissue focus...these are different modalities and you should set your expectations correctly.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Clients should think about their major areas of tension and soreness/pain. They should be prepared to speak about what they do for work(how they are using their bodies), and exercise habits, so the therapist can get a sense of their activity. THey should also be prepared to share information on any surgeries or chronic conditions that affect them.
