About

I have been practicing massage since 2009, after having graduated from Educating Hands School of Massage, one of the top ten programs in the country. I have been a member of FSMTA (the oldest professional massage organization in the country) since 2008 and have studied with some of the top massage therapists in the country and currently serve as the MidAtlantic Chapter Secretary and a national convention volunteer. I have developed a fusion of many massage modalities in order to create a perfect massage for each client’s needs. I have also learned the importance of listening to each client, not only what they say but what their body is telling me as well. As a result, clients have commented that “you can feel her heart through her hands” and “she is a lifesaver and really listens to my needs”. I have even been nicknamed The Muscle Whisperer by my clients who have stated “she communicates with my muscles on a cellular level.” Although I am more than capable of working with the entire body, I am especially skilled in sciatica/lower back pain relief as well as headache/ neck relief. My favorite modalities are sports/stretching, deep tissue and prenatal although I am also skilled in Swedish, hot stone, reiki, chair, and other modalities. Additionally, I spent time working with accident victims and am very skillful at pain relief. I am also a member of the Bodymasons Performance Therapy Team and am the official massage therapist for the Annapolis Film Festival. My goal and passion is to make a positive difference for every client.

I love making a difference in people's lives and seeing my clients get out of pain. The best feeling in the world is when a client comes in in pain and by the end of the massage, they spring up out of pain.

I’m an experienced (and very picky) client to massage therapy. I’m not one that likes the typical “spa” massage – I need someone who is going to make me feel better beyond a few hours. That’s why, when I met Jodi, I was a bit reluctant about trying a new therapist, especially when I was in need of someone who knew how to do pre-natal therapy. During my second pregnancy, I suffered with sciatica that totally put a burden on my lifestyle. At the time, I was seeing a chiropractor a couple times a week for relief. I decided to give Jodi a chance and I’m so happy I did! She not only knew the exact pressure I needed or the area that was giving me pain, but she worked on the area that was causing the pain as well. She educated me on how the body works and how muscle groups work, so even if I am feeling pain in one area, the cause can be a totally different part of the body. I stopped going to my chiropractor as I found myself getting more relief with Jodi. Now it’s been 14 months since I had my second child and I am still going to Jodi on a regular basis. She has helped me rebound from my pregnancy, treat active injuries, and maintain an overall better health and quality of life.

I wanted to share with you how I am feeling after having had an hour massage. Being that I have very focused needs because I am a fibromyalgia patient, I was hesitant to come through your door. Although the word massage sounds wonderful, to a patient like myself, massage is a much feared event. I am happy to tell you that not only do I feel wonderful but I know that continued treatment will lessen my pain. You patiently listened to my fears and described the treatment plan such that I understood exactly what would take place. I couldnt have asked for a better massage therapist. Thanks again for being such a caring person.

Jodi is quite literally a lifesaver for me. Working in the IT field, Im stuck in the same hunched position day in and day out for hours on end. The pain and tension was so bad that it affected my vision and breathing; scaring me half-to-death. I went through the gamut: pain medication, medicated rubs, heating pads/cold packs, hot tubs, chiropractors, neurologists, etc. None gave me the extended relief I desperately sought. Then by chance I found Jodi. She diagnosed the problem and worked out a routine of massage therapy coupled with my existing Applied Kinesiology chiropractic care to put me on a path to recovery. To this day, both my chiropractor and I credit Jodi with the complete reversal of my condition. Accolades can not begin to describe how grateful I am for her dedication to my physical health and overall well-being.

As a colleague and a massage therapist, I have recommended others to Jodi, as she is very skilled and excellent at what she does. She has worked on many different types of clients, from athletes to accident victims, from pregnant mothers to seniors. She has a caring touch which is very holistic and healing, yet therapeutic. Also, as one of her clients, she has been able to work on my upper body issues with a full body approach, including stretching and deep tissue, improving postural misalignment and alleviating pain due to pressure on my spine from the lumbar to the cervical areas. She is an excellent therapist and I would highly recommend her massage to anyone needing to relax and reduce pain.

Jodi has the hands of a miracle worker. Of all the massages I have ever had, hers are the best. The lasting effects of her work are no less than miraculous. I would recommend her services to anyone who wants a massage.

Frequently asked questions

I do an intake session and have them fill out a form so that I know what there issue is. I then reassure them that I can adjust my pressure or any other aspect of the massage such as the stretches in my professional massage. I then explain to them how to lay on the table, especially for my prenatal clients who may not have had a prenatal massage before. I let them know that this is there massage so as long as everything is professional, I want to make sure they get the massage they want and want them to get into their zone whether that be a silent room or talking. I then proceed with the massage.

I attended one of the top ten schools in the nation and am an active member of the oldest massage organization in the country where I have the opportunity to study with some of the top massage therapists in the country each year. While I am only required to do 24 hours of continuing education every two years, it is not uncommon for me to have over 100. I have studied many different modalities, including sports/stretching, deep tissue, prenatal, hot stone, chair, aromatherapy, Tian di Bamboo, Esalen and many other types of massage from which I pull aspects to create each massage experience.

In office - $85 an hour, at your location - $100 an hour plus travel depending on distance

athletes, people with pain (especially chronic), pregnant, basically anyone who wants a massage but I prefer when there is something going on with the body as I do tend to do a lot of deep tissue massage while I can do light pressure as well.
