How did you get started in this business?
I was working at a Mec center where I assisted the Physical Therapy department in a procedure called ART. Active Release Technique. I also did massage with a handheld device. My patients complimented me for the massage, and told me I was the best. This caused me to take interest in Massage Therapy.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked on athletes, elderly, and the disabled.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am active at my church. I work with 5 year olds in a faith based program that is similar to Girl Scouts. I participate in back to school bashes, and other events through my church.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure they're licensed and match up with what your looking for. There are many modalities to the massage field. Examples are Hot Stone, Tai, Lymphatic Drainage, Deep Tissue, Cupping, and so on. No Therapist does them all.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Is there any part of their body they want untouched? For example a sore toe, or a shoulder with decreased range of motion. Do they prefer more time spent on one place more than others? For example their feet or their neck.
