Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We talk about any physical problems they might have and I'd make a physical assessment to help identify problem areas. Typically a postural assessment would reveal any issues. I may make some recommendations that will create a better outcome for the client then I will review any stretches at the end of the massage.
I try to keep assessments brief unless there is something the client is wanting me to address specifically or there are some obvious issues.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
864 hours of formal training in massage modalities and 14 years experience providing massage services.
I've been lucky enough to have worked with some of the best massage therapists in the field and routinely explore different modalities and test their effectiveness.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I'm only doing out-calls right now and they are priced at $199 for 90 minutes. Most of my massages run from 90 minutes to up to 3 hours.
I also offer corporate chair massage starting at $199 for 2 hours.
How did you get started in this business?
I have always given massage at parties through my life and have always been keen to learn massage from an early age.
At one point I was between jobs and several people suggested I become a professional massage therapist. In 2004 I started training after a move to Atlanta.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Corporate employees, house wives, dancers, professional athletes, actors and celebrities. More frequently I work with crossfitters and massage therapists.
When the most common profession of my clients is "massage therapist" I feel that I must be doing a good job.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
If you are looking for a deep tissue specialist, you need to be working with someone who has strong diagnostic and assessment skills. 4 plus years of experience is essential and solid online reviews 5 stars only.
Solid neck work defines excellence in the field, but it is just rare to find.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about where it hurts and any activities or actions that increase or decrease the level of experienced pain.
