Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Email is the best initial contact since my work precludes my spending a lot of time on the phone. We discuss your condition or complaint, strategies for treatment and correction, and move ahead with our first session. My traveling to your location is the usual choice but I do have access to studio locations as well
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certifications in:
Pre & Post Natal Massage, Thai Massage, Oncology Massage, Pediatric Bodywork, Cupping Therapies, Vibration- Tuning Fork Energetics, Reiki, Vodder Lymphatics
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
$120 for 90 minutes is the basis HOWEVER I do not watch the clock and schedule with plenty of time to extend as needed. I charge for the session, not the time
How did you get started in this business?
I wanted to be part of the medical recovery team for elite and professional athletics, that is exactly what I accomplished. With high repute, I might add.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Professional and elite athletes, Wounded Warriors, Pregnant and post Natal mamas with their babies, oncology and hospice patients, post surgical scar rehabilitation and remodeling, concussion sufferers, chronic headache complaints, weight lifters, housewives, cubicle warriors, and everyone in between.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Ultraman extreme 3-day triathlon brought a cyclist to my medical tent table at the finish line. This young man was struggling even walking after 175 miles on his bike. In fact, his team carried him. After about 30 minutes of various medical massage treatments and kinesiotape, he was able to walk unaided. The next day, he finished the race in the top 5 and broke a speed record in his category.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My training and approach is corrective in nature, I do not work in a pampering fashion, but to help you open a restriction and learn about your body. Many athletes have told me I work like a physio, not a massage therapist.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Know if you want a medical/ corrective treatment or a pampering spa experience. Therapists with training as I have do not offering pampering relaxation massages, but focus on correction and helping you learn more about how your body works. Most therapists offering relaxation/ Swedish massage / Deep Tissue do not have the training to assist with any kind of correction or post injury or surgical recovery. If you want someone to really work on a joint issue or scar restriction, Swedish massage with deep tissue won't do it, even though it may feel good. .
