About
I usually see up to 7 clients a day who are suffering in some way and in varying degrees. Whether that is from physical or emotional trauma, injury, exhaustion or just the general stress of life on planet Earth, I take great satisfaction in helping to alleviate the pain they are going through.
My work is intuitive yet grounded in a solid education of human anatomy and physiology.
I do slow, moderate to deep work and have a firm but gentle presence.
I have many years of experience in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Medical massage as well as extensive training in Shiatsu that I incorporate into the other modalities I practice.
Each massage I do is tailored to my client's specifications. My client's comfort is always paramount.
I think my work helps the world be a little bit better place for the people I come into contact with and that is a good job to have in my opinion.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I make sure if they've had a professional massage before. If not I explain clearly the procedure for draping the sheets on them and that their comfort and safety is of utmost importance.
Next I ascertain what ails them. Is it an injury or chronic problem, is it emotional or job stress or maybe it's postural from being on a computer or standing all day, repetitive stress from their job or a sport they play?
I then tailor a massage to that specific need. Some times there is immediate and complete relief of their stress but usually any major problems or chronic afflictions take multiple sessions over time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Initially The Swedish Institute NYC
Studied, Swedish, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Sports/Medical modalities.
Training had a foundation in college courses of Anatomy and Physiology learning the human body from cellular to systemic levels.
Continuing education in Breathwork, Lomi Lomi, Stretching and fine tuning technique.

How did you get started in this business?
My personal interests had led me to all sorts of alternative medicine and energy work techniques and massage was a natural evolution from that. It fit well with my personality and passion for fitness and the human body.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked everywhere from the spas to chiropractor's offices to the mobile apps and high end concierge services.
Clients come in all shapes and sizes and for any manner of reasons. My objective always is to give the best session I can for each and every one of them whether they are a celebrity, a high powered executive or a working class person who had to save up three months to afford it or gift it to someone that couldn't afford it. Anyone who books me gets my 5 star treatment.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a client come to me recently who'd been suffering from a chronic pinched C5 nerve and had been enduring the excruciating shooting pain that went from his neck on down his arm. He couldn't sleep or work properly.
We did two sessions 3 days apart. The first alleviated the pain considerably and over a couple days improved significantly and after the Second session he became almost pain free and called me next day to say it was gone and he was overjoyed to be rid of the agony.
Those are the experiences that make me love what I do. To know I've had such a positive pact on a person's life and been able to help their body rid itself of what is hurting it is a great reward.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
People always ask me what modalities I do. Do you do Swedish or Deep Tissue...
As a massage therapist when I need a massage and the therapist I trust isn't available my first question and top requirement is "have you studied anatomy and if so to what depth".
I think it is the utmost importance and should be a legal requirement across the board (though it isnt) that all L.M.T.'s study college level courses in Anatomy and Physiology. Every therapist should know how the human body is put together and have extensive education in its functionality..
If you make certain of that you are far more likely to get the thorough bodywork you are looking for. Not so with a therapist who is just guessing at what lies beneath the skin.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do a mental check of your body and ascertain for yourself what areas are hurting and in most need. If you are only doing an hour session and need detailed work on your back it probably won't be enough time for full body so you might think about extending to 90 minutes. If you can't then it's more important to address your problem areas than it is to cover the entire body.
If it is your first massage and you are nervous about being undressed under the sheets and also are nervous about the sheet draping process make sure to ask for a clear explanation for the procedure. It is your massage and you are in control. Your comfort and feelings of safety and security are paramount. You will not be able to relax or enjoy the benefits of massage if you are apprehensive and unsure of the therapist and the procedure.
Similar to a physician there must be trust between client and therapist. If communication is optimal and procedures are properly explained you will find you trust your therapist and are able to relax and enjoy the session.
