Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been rehabilitating injuries since I was 14 thanks to Oviedo High School's Student Athletic Training program. In 2000, as a freshman at UCF, I was able to volunteer in the UCF training room and further aid in the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries. In 2006, I received my massage therapy license and have since been certified in Medical Massage and taken courses related to postural correction and manual therapy techniques including Trigger Point Therapy, Cupping, Active Isolated Stretching (the Aaron Mattes method), and more. My sessions are customized based on individual needs.

How did you get started?
I realized during my time at UCF that, even though I loved rehabilitating injuries, I didn't care for Athletic Training hours. I finished my degree in Health Services Administration and decided to get my massage therapy license to continue my love of helping people get better. I focused on sports massage and medical courses that make me very efficient in aiding conditions like frozen shoulder, sciatic pain and whip lash injuries, among others.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I had the opportunity to work with all ages and levels of customers, from a 5 year old gymnast, to Major League Soccer players from Columbus Crew, to 82 year old grandmothers. The mechanism of injury might be different, but the techniques I use can be modified to work with most all cases.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had worked with professional sports as a student athletic trainer (the XFL and AFL), but it was in 2014 that I finally worked with professional sports as a massage therapist thanks to my mentor.
Another thing I consider an "event" is restoring function in the condition known as Frozen Shoulder. It's a very painful condition and many times one that requires surgery. Restoring pain free function is the most satisfying feeling in all cases, especially so with a joint that has so many parts to it.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a professional in your area of expertise?
Check out reviews. Call and ask questions to make sure it matches your idea of what a massage should encompass. For example, I don't work light or deep, I work specific, which can feel deep because I'm working on muscles that are already dysfunctional. The session itself is sometimes not very relaxing, but it helps you feel better long term after you're off the table. If you're looking to relax, I would refer you to someone else.
