About

The therapeutic act of giving and receiving massage is an essential part of leading a healthy lifestyle. As a licensed massage therapist, I serve as a guide, educator, and space holder for you as your body heals and you seek heightened levels of wellness and self-awareness.

Using my knowledge of the soft tissues of the human body I assess various layers of fascia, muscle, and connective tissue. By manipulating these soft tissues with healing intent and respect for you, my client, I enable the curing powers that lie within you. Sessions are always confidential and are based on your needs, even if those needs change mid-session.

I would be honored to be part of your wellness journey wherever you are along the way and at your own pace. You may be surprised at how well your body rejuvenates itself with a little guidance from Celestial Hands.

I love working one on one with clients to facilitate their healing and wellness journey.

Visiting the Celestial Hands Healing Arts studio was one of the better decisions Ive made all year. The relaxing environment of this studio is matched well with Adams strong but nurturing energy. Throughout the massage I felt that energy transfer into his work, he was effective in being diligent and focusing on the areas I requested attention but also still maintained the relaxing quality that you desire from a massage. I have already rescheduled for another appointment and look forward to making this part of my regular self care.

    Frequently asked questions

    When You Book Your Session

When you book your session with Celestial Hands Healing Arts, you will receive an email confirming your appointment with a "Health History Intake" form attached. It is important to complete this form prior to your appointment as it allows more time for hands-on work the day of.

The form informs your therapist of medical conditions, your areas of concern/preferences, your level of pain or discomfort on good and bad days, what helps reduce the pain and what makes it worse and contact info. ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION IS KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.

On the Day of Your Session

Make sure you are physically able to receive and enjoy a massage. Reschedule if you are experiencing a fever, skin irritations (such as poison ivy or recent sunburn), or if you are trying to stabilize your medication (because massage can affect the dosage needed). If you are unsure if you should have a massage with a certain condition consult your physician.

Drink water and eat a light snack before your session. Give yourself plenty of time to arrive on time and be relaxed. If you are rushing and arrive stressed, it will be harder for you to reach a relaxed state.

    Intake Interview

If your therapist has any questions from the Health History Intake form they will ask for clarification. If anything has changed since you filled out the form or adjustments need to be made for the session it will be discussed at this time. Before bringing you to the treatment room they will give a brief description of what to expect in the session.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to ask. Anything you say during the intake process and during the session is also Confidential.

    Privacy & Draping

After the intake is complete you will be left in the treatment room to undress to your comfort. You will lie in the massage table and under draping for warmth and modesty during the session but you are welcome to leave certain articles of clothing on for your comfort. Only areas being massaged will be undraped at any time. Specific areas such as genitals and breasts will never be undraped.

Certain massage modalities can be performed fully clothed. Ask your therapist about this if you are uncomfortable disrobing.

    During Your Session

This time is reserved for you and your therapist wants you to the most out of it possible. During the session, you will lie face up or down depending on which part of the body is being worked on. bolstering will be provided for you to take pressure off of your low back and joints (more bolstering is available upon request). Draping by default includes a sheet and a blanket but you may request more or less depending on your temperature needs. Only parts of the body being worked on will be undraped.

You are in charge and can request that anything change during the session including music, temperature, pressure, pace, what type of oil/lotion is to be used if you need the session shortened, lengthened (time permitting), or stopped, ect.

End of Session & Follow up

Towards the end of the massage your therapist will ask you if there is any specific part of the body you would like addressed with the remaining time. When the session comes to a close you can take your time when getting up from the table and will be left in privacy to redress.

Your therapist will be waiting outside of the treatment room with a glass of water and a recommended treatment plan based on what was observed during the massage. Massage is a cumulative process, so after you leave the therapist creates detailed records of every session so progress can be made by building on the work from the previous appointment. (These are called SOAP notes and you may request to see them at any time)

You will receive a follow-up email with a link to a feedback form that you have the option to fill out at your leisure. You may also contact your therapist directly if you have any comments or adjustments you'd like to see in your next session.

    Payment

Unless other arrangements were made prior to the session, payment is required in full after your treatment is complete. Cash, credit, debit, PayPal, and gift cards are all acceptable forms of payment. Checks are not accepted for the first session but may be used on return trips. Tips are accepted and appreciated for exceptional work but are not required.
