Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before the first appointment I meet with clients to go over 'new client intake' paperwork that takes roughly 10 minutes. We discuss key stress areas, goals for the session, as well as medical history to avoid contraindications. Then, we create a session plan that fits the client's current and long term massage needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed the Denver Integrative Massage School's program for Massage Therapy in March of 2020. This school teaches an integrative approach to massage. Therapists learn to apply a variety of techniques for different objectives throughout the session.
Shortly after graduation I started my own practice, Epiphany Massage Colorado and have been working toward growing my business.
Ten years ago I learned meditation and have been interested in the connection of mind, body, and soul ever since. I now practice silent meditation, breath work, and active yoga on a weekly basis. This eventually lead to an interest in the healing arts and massage.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
If you come to my studio (availability on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday), the standard price is:
$60/1 hour session
$90/1 hour and a half session
$120/2 hour session
For mobile massage (I come to you on other days), the base pricing is the same with an added $15 Mobile Fee.
How did you get started in this business?
Over ten years ago I began practicing meditation. It sparked my interest in the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. In time I began practicing yoga, meditation and breath work on a regular basis. This passion eventually lead me to learn about the healing arts. After some time I decided to learn Massage Therapy. I view it as my best and most direct way to effect positive change in my community while serving my working needs as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In early May of this year I went on a hike with my brother and a few cousins. We woke up early with the car already packed to drive up to Estes Park and eventually Bear Lake trailhead in the Rocky Mountain National Forrest. We rented some gear on the way and planned to hike up to Emerald Lake. The hike was completely covered in snow, around 4 miles total, and had some incredible views. The group really enjoyed the adventure and got some great photos as well!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Try your best to hydrate well before and after the session. Also, continue to work with new therapists until you find one whose style matches your preferences. Massage should be both therapeutic as well as relaxing. It is not a 'no pain no gain' type of therapy.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Where is the pain and stress in my body?
What is the cause of this stress?
What is my history with pain and what types of management protocols have I taken in the past?
