About this pro

My practice is 100% mobil now. My skills are a accumulation of several years of study and application. I am well versed in several techniques and draw from a wide pool of exsperiences. I form fit the best approach for my clients and thier massage therapy goals/outcomes. All massages have some time focused on total relaxation to optimise the treatment.  I encourage my clients on self care and how they can help themselves outside of the office, including regular exercise and healthy eating.

I set up my table to include soft lighting with warm and cozy linen encouraging ultimate comfort and relaxation. Relaxing music always fills the room.  I work with my clients in a variety of positions, using various sizes of cushions to support the body while achieving optimal effectiveness with comfort. This is most prevolent with a injured or during pregnancy. Aromatherapy is hand mixed, special for every massage. Fequently warm towel are used at the end of massage session to assist with the removal of top layer of lotion or oil.

All the massage services will be provided with the utmost respect to EVERY client. This is a safe non-threatening place to unwind and let go of your worries for a while. Refresh your mind, body, and sences resulting in a uplifting attitude adjustment in a hour or two.

In the last few years i have come to specialise in pre-natal massage (I love the variability of working with exspecting Mothers) I am also a trained delivery Doula (Dona International) and i can teach parents how to perform massage on thier babies (aka infant massage). This is a great way to empower children to voice what they need and clearly communicate setting boundaries. This globally is very powerful!

I love the healing possibilities through touch! We touch our hearts when we honor someone to touch our bodies! This shift into full body comfort is like magic. I am challeged to describe it in words. Trusting and creating a sacred space works! It diminishes pain, comforts the body, mind and refresses the spirit. Increases faith and body awareness. I love that massage helps create a connection with fractured spirits and connects the body with the mind. This integration process is very powerful when addressed.

My family and I have been going to Massage Therapy for more than 10 years. Helen is very professional and is extremely thorough. Helen's best asset is that she takes the time to learn about the underlying causes of the problem. In addition to the Massage, Helen will also provide consultation on what we can do to help ourselves in both the short term and long term. I strongly recommend her.

I have been receiving massage therapy from Helen for well over a year. She has great energy, she works with an open heart and gauges how much pressure according to how responsive my muscles are. Coming from a personal trainer/amateur athlete background, I appreciate a therapist that finds creative ways to tackle a nagging issue. Thank you Helen!

Helen is always cheerful and makes you feel relaxed throughout the session. You will come away with a rejuvenated feeling that will stay with you the entire day.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Typically i do a brief oral history prior to setting up a appointment with a new client. Thus confirming my specific approach/technique with the clients massage objective. Gathering all necessary tools and time allowances for a relaxing and or therapeutic massage. 5-15 minutes prior to 1st visit-is necessary to review clients needs. A written health history is required- takes only 5 min. and remainder time is available for my review and notes for massage goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Thier are hundreds of massage and alternative healing techniques available today. I am familiar with several, but always have room to learn more. But, I have over accumulated over 950 hours of massage education in the last 20+years. My initial education is looking at the body with a swedish and neuromuscular approach, pre-post event work.  Followed by emotional release/body trama work, spa therapies, deep tissue/sports massage and streching. Later study included a few hundred hours in Oncology Massage, incorporating energy work, reflexology, accupressure points, MLD-lymphatic, scar tissue release, and eastern phiosophies. My practice continued to morph and I took classes in working with the terminally ill and dieing, with children and adults. This showed me the powerful healing energy that comes from basic touch and a gnuine loving energy presence. More recently in the last few years, i studied and continue grow in the area of pre/postnatal massage. I love the complexity of this populations-wk. And often i engage the unborn child in the massage briefly while address the exspecting mother and her varied aches and pain that pregnancy can create and comfort the mom emotionally.  And i am always thrilled to try a unique approach to a difficult medical condition or situation. Love it!
