Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Please books via phone, because I offer my Thervo customers a one time discount.
Afterwards I will send the client a portal link to fill out some paperwork and a medical massage intake form to be able to find out about certain contraindications and needed modalities. This online intake is followed by a short in person conversation before the first session. A massage is 50min/80min/110min/140min/170min long, depending on customers choice.
Following each massage I give customers recommendations how to enhence their health by showing customized stretches or excercises that will help in the healing process as well as a treatment plan for follow up services. No medical massage is a stand-alone massage but a process that takes time, is highly individual, and requires patient involvement.
I cannot guarantee any outcomes, but 80-90% of my customers say that their pain relief was significant within 3 sessions and most stay pain free or with less pain when they stay in maintenance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a valid CAMTC massage licence, a Holistic Health Practitioner certification as well as a valid Esthetician license for California. I also have a valid General Nursing license from Germany.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $85 flat rate per hour. Mobile services ad $10 per 5miles driven. I work only up to one flight of stairs with $10 surcharge. Gratuity is always appreciated.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of customers. I am pro LGBTQ, non biased concerning race or religion. I offer great respect and understanding for my clients and only ask to be treated with respect as well.
My experience reaches from spa massages, including hot stone, reflexology, pregnancy and swedish massage to medical massage, range of motion excercises, stretching, vibration and microcurrent therapy, cupping, client education, client seminars, to working with chiropractors.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I hold regular seminars at Jimbo's on health education that are of interest to my customers. All seminars are free of charge and offer insight into home remedies for back pain and many more.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
There is nothing better than a hands-on massage to choose your therapist. Everyone is different and not everyone clicks with everyone. When you choose your therapist, make sure he is licensed by the Calivornia Massage Therapy Council and has experience in the field you are interested in. For example I have a background in nursing and my strong side is my medical background to do medical massage. If you look for reflexology, make sure someone has a strong background in eastern modalities.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
A very important topic is price. If you are looking for quality work in a certain field, you cannot expect lowest price. You get what you pay for. A $40 massage at your next massage place might bring the risk of exploited or trafficed workers with little to no massage training. Even franchise massages tend to lack finesse and excellence.
