About

Oak and Holly Massage TherapyArthur Trefzger, Certified Massage Practitioner

California Massage Therapy Council, CAMTC #64786

Arthur has worked as a massage therapist since 2015, utilizing integrated massage techniques to best address his clients’ needs. He is certified in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Reflexology and Traditional Hawaiian (Big Island) Lomi Lomi modalities.

Arthur’s personal mindset is that, “No Pain, No Gain” is not necessarily true!

He works with each individual client’s issues and pain, using the mantra of ‘the massage doesn’t have to be painful for the problem to get better.’

As such, Arthur uses comfortable, relaxing levels of pressure for a deeply effective and therapeutic massage; clients report feelings of Calm and Healing at the same time.

Arthur has Associates Degrees in Mathematics and in Science, including Anatomy, Physiology, and Chemistry. His knowledge of Anatomy is put to use in every massage: everyone deserves to understand how their body works and how to help it heal!

The therapist, Arthur, was friendly and professional and immediately put me at my ease. He seemed very knowledgeable about several massage techniques and was able to give relief to my sciatica issues without causing me additional pain. I also had a sinus headache which was gone by the time he finished working on my head, neck, and shoulders. I plan to book additional massages with Arthur, and would happily recommend him.

Arthur is always looking to personalize and optimize the massage he provides. He checks in to make sure that pressure is constant and comfortable, and he provides excellent advice for after-care when the appointment is finished. His friendly, easy-going personality makes one feel at ease. Furthermore, Arthur often demonstrates his knowledge of human anatomy and physical health to improve the effectiveness of the massage.

Frequently asked questions

I ask questions to ascertain my new client's needs, establishing the location, duration, and possible causes for their pain. I may seek more information to help me determine how best to help them, such as what their profession is, if they have any prior injuries or illnesses, etc. I establish expectations as far as pressure during the massage and gain consent for working on areas such as the glutes and pectoral muscles -- if such work would help the client -- as some clients aren't comfortable with receiving work in those areas.

I graduated from massage school in December 2014. I hold a CMP certification with the state of California.

I have worked with clients from ages 12-90, with all different backgrounds. Some of my specialties include working with clients who experience migraines/other headaches; frozen shoulder; plantar fasciitis; and various hip issues.
