I offer adaptive massage for every body, connecting with clients of all levels of physical and mental ability, age, and health. I bring over a quarter century of professional experience and great heart to my work.
I consider myself enormously fortunate to have found a career which continues to be fun, creative, and new, even with clients with whom I’ve been working for decades. I look forward to working with you.
I enjoy the aspect of service to my clients, working together to create the perfect massage for them. It's really fun to help people to achieve their health goals, whether their desire is pain relief, relaxation, flexibility, increased athletic performance, moving through emotion, or something unique to them. Each session, I work to have a therapeutic moment and to stay present to my client's shifts. When I work well, I receive as much benefit as my client-What a gas!
Susan is so special. Her techniques/skill level is excellent. I felt so refreshed, cared for and listened to as she brought health and healing to my body. She's my go-to gal!
I came to Susan with very bad lower back pain. She really listened to what I needed and gave me a powerful and healing massage. My mobility increased immediately and I felt so much better the next day. I absolutely recommend working with Susan!
Susan listens and not just to what you say with your voice but to your body also. She found spots that needed help that were hurting other areas!
I’ve had outstanding experiences with Susan. I know what I like and what works for me in a massage — Susan listened, then attuned herself to my body to give me one of the best I’ve ever had. She’s a compassionate, strong healer.
I charge $80 an hour for massage and add a travel fee dependent on distance to bring my table to you. I also have the availability to do chair massage for your company or event or for people who are not able or comfortable getting on a table.
I enjoy private parties (bridal, reunions, retreats, employee rewards), where I work on multiple people. I'm available to do short or long sessions, depending on your group's needs. My favorite is working on a bunch of friends, who decide to hang out and take care of themselves. I've done this in many vacation homes and as an alternative to drinking for an AA group who hired me as their monthly treat.
In college, I was in a serious accident and received massage three times a week as part of my therapy. My family and I had always given each other massages, but professional massage took it to a whole new level.
I moved to Santa Cruz county with a degree and a closet full of suits, after a corporate sales career. I didn’t know what was next, but I knew it wasn’t going to be sales. My big brother encouraged me to get my massage certification and work with him in his chiropractic office. I gave my first professional massage on my Birthday-and what a gift my work has been!
I’m so fortunate that I have been able to serve such a wide range of people. I work with people of all abilities, including athletes, children, people with spinal cord and brain injuries, end of life, pregnancy, and more.
I have worked in chiropractic and physical therapy offices, spas, special events, weekend retreats, parties, offices, etc.
I was fortunate to work on a dying woman and her two sisters. They were all over 80 and had never received a massage before. The three of them were incredulous that they had spent their whole lives never having massages and were so receptive and grateful.
Ask for exactly what you want. If you’re not sure what you want before your massage, be willing and open to give feedback so that your massage therapist can give you the massage that you would give yourself if you could. Remember that this is for you. A good massage therapist should never be insulted or take it personally if you ask them to vary the pressure, change the music, or anything else that would make it a better experience for you. You’re worth it!
Why do I want a massage:
injury, pampering, reduce stress, flexibility, relaxation, circulation, grief/emotion/healing from inappropriate touch, curiosity, receiving healthy touch (perhaps recovering from breakup or loss of relationship), just feeling good...
any health challenges?
how often should I receive massage? how long should my session be?
What should I eat, drink, wear?
