About this pro

Hello, my name is Alayna and I am a licensed and insured massage therapist. I have worked with chiropractors, day spas and provided mobile massage therapy over the last decade, and have a great passion for what I do. I began my studies when I was 17, and was licensed by 18. I have 13 years of massage therapy experience, and close to 2,000 hours of training and coursework.

I love helping people feel better, enjoy being part of the healing journey and watching them do more activities because they have more energy, less pain and feel more empowered to work harder because they feel "like a million bucks" as one of my clients says.

I stand out because I truly want what is best for the person I am working on. I give 100% of my attention to their needs, and ensure that I am providing the best service possible.

I provide many modalities such as pregnancy massage, reflexology foot and hand massage, deep tissue sports massage and relaxing Swedish massage with optional hot stone therapy.

I have worked at Global chiropractic and Lyon chiropractic, as well as Elements, Beauty Brands and Lifetime Fitness. With a strong background in customer service and care giving, I feel like the perfect fit for the massage therapy industry and will continue to hone my skills to become the best I can be for those who come into my life to heal and find relaxation.

I enjoy seeing the progression of someone's health, wellness and over mind/body balance. When I practice massage therapy, I find it very rewarding to hear that I have provided an intuitive and skillful technique during the massage and do my best to continue honing my skills to become the best massage therapist I can be.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I ask questions relating to previous injuries or surgeries, and ensure that I fully understand what it is the client is needing in that moment to feel relief. I provide personalized bodywork based on the priority areas, and work head-to-toe to help them relax after a long week or provide relief for a serious achy back that needs deep tissue work.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have nearly 2,000 hours of massage therapy training and coursework, including pregnancy massage, hot stone therapy, hand and foot reflexology, sports deep tissue massage and relaxing Swedish massage.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $1/min plus a gas fee depending on location. Some locations may be out of the area and may require a larger fee for travel.

How did you get started in this business?

I have always wanted to be a massage therapist since I was a child. I remember massage everyone's shoulders at the dinner table to avoid eating my dinner, and everyone was so please they'd forget about dinner and we'd eat dessert!

That's just a funny story, but I truly got started when I was 17, and studied massage therapy at EVIT. I received my license before I was 18, and joined ASMT's year long program in 2008 to further my education. I was the first ever student to also hold their massage therapy license during the program. That gave me the opportunity to work while I was training, and helped to fine tune my technique even faster.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with children ages 14 - 17 at the chiropractic offices I worked at, and all the way to 80 year old women and men in need of geriatric massage. Mostly, I work with athletes, such as golfers and football players. I have clients who enjoy relaxing energy work like reiki and chakra balancing, so I have truly enjoyed being able to offer such a wide variety of modalities to all walks of life that grace me with their presence. I am always happy to help heal anyone along my journey!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I am very happy to have seen progress in my clients hip, and after 3 months of weekly two-hour massages he was able to hike and bike again!

He has even mentioned that the pain had gone away, and to know that I can help to make an impact in his life like that truly makes me love what I do!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

I would advise the client to check modalities offered, and read any reviews left by clients to get a feel for the therapist before reaching out.
