Just so you know, my eyes don't see the person you used to be, I only see the person you are fighting to become". This defines the work I do daily with my clients. The willingness to face things you want to change, is all it takes. Fear is expected as change comes, however we can work on coping skills to diminish the fear and anxiety you have. I will support you with empathy and compassion along the pathway to healing. "Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. I specialize in substance abuse treatment with clients 12-65 years of age. I help clients learn how to cope in relationships, depression, anxiety, mental illness, codependency, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues and parenting issues. I believe the therapeutic relationship between myself and a client is what fosters an environment to heal and learn healthy coping.

If you have tried to heal your past or current hurts but lack coping skills/tools? I would be honored to use my personal and profession experiences to help you begin or continue down the road of healing, resolution and or recovery. I too am in recovery & have been sober 19 years. Frequently asked questions

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

For the first session we will do an intake and discuss what you want out of counseling and what goals overall you want to set. For the second session we discuss the treatment plan and specific goals you want to work on and specific target areas in your life you want to address.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a masters in professional counseling and I'm licensed in the state of Alabama as a licensed professional counselor. I have over 10 years of experience with drug alcohol abuse, inpatient psychiatric outpatient and Private practice.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Intake sessions are $225 a session and regular sessions marital sessions or a couple sessions are $150 a session. I do take insurance but it depends on the insurance. For the state of Alabama, it is Blue Cross blue shield of Alabama but please check with your insurance prior to making an appointment.

How did you get started in this business?

I've been in recovery for 23 years about 10 years ago I had a friend who said that I should be a therapist despite me not ever considering being a therapist, I looked into it and everything fell into place and here we are.

What types of customers have you worked with?

The majority of my clients are between the ages of 15 and 50 however I do work with children as young as 12 and adults is older than 65.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

A recent event that I am fond of is a trip to national parks.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

I would make sure that you check the state Alabama Board of counseling as well as read reviews of therapists in the area and make sure you check their website or their psychology today to see if what they offer is what is in line with what you want.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

To me this is a silly question because the entire purpose of counseling is to talk through questions you might have with a pro. However in terms of looking for somebody who is a professional counselor I would just make sure that you are to check in to see if they are professionals if they hold a state license insurance and are reputable in the community. A good place to look for this is psychology today website and they stand behind who is licensed and who was not.
