Throughout my three careers; corporate accounting, law enforcement, and counseling, there has been one common theme; Crisis.
Crisis causes change. Whether we bring it on ourselves or it is thrust upon us, crisis creates the crucible from within which change is born. Without crisis, motivation is weak and success more of an ideal than a goal.

I am a behaviorist, and I believe that we are a product of both nature and nurture. We inherit traits and disease. Our behaviors are a function of what we are born with and the environments we live in. The choices we make, whether they be rational and informed or just on instinct, are all tied to how we navigate both our genetics and our world.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
As a new or prospective client, please visit my website (www.jongarlicklpc.com), look for the appointment tab, pic a date and time that is both available and workable for you. You will be advised by text if your requested appointment is accepted. There are a few forms available under the appointment tab that would be helpful for you to complete and bring with you to your first apointment. We Accept Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Alabama or private pay.
At the first appointment we will set goals for counseling and begin the process of change. Typlically we will meet for weekly one hour sessions over the course of 8 to 10 weeks or longer is necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed counselor in Alabama, a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Clinically Certified Juvenille Treatment Specialist, and a Crisis Intervention Specialist.
I hold a BS in Accounting, a MS in Counseling and an Ed.S. in counseling.
I am also a certified crisis negotiator, certified jail manager, certified court security specialist, expert witness and adjunct professor at Jacksonville State University. Also a Retired law enforcement officer and mental health officer.
