My name is Thea Shire, MA LMHCA and I am a mental health counselor in Fremont and Queen Anne in Seattle. I work with individuals and families with an emphasis on healing Trauma. I use EMDR, DBT, mindfulness, somatic awareness, attachment theory, and emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for couples in my practice. If you are looking to get through your pain and find peace and playfulness in your life again, I may be a good fit for you. Feel free to call/text/email me to set up a FREE 30 minute consultation! I love getting to know people in both short-term and long-term relationships. I believe it is in caring for our relationships with ourselves and others that we can learn to heal our attachment wounds and build strong, secure, lasting bonds with others, all the while feeling heard, seen, and loved.
I look forward to getting to know you!

Empathy, LGBTQIA, and trauma! Thea is open-minded and actually helped me through the trauma I had as a rape survivor
I offer a FREE 30 minute phone consultation for new clients who want to see if we can be a good fit together. If you decide to skip the phone consultation I give you $45 off of your intake appointment.
The intake appointments run the full hour as I like to chat and get to know each client for the first 30 minutes or so then during the second half of the session we go over policies and procedures, fill out paperwork, and discuss confidentiality.
After the intake appointment our next session dives right into goals, treatment plans, and modalities we will focus on.

In my last years of my undergrad program I started a job as a Registered Behavioral Technician working with kids and young adults with Autism Spectrums disorder and other special needs. I loved this job for over 4 years before going back to school to get my Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology. As an intern I worked with children, adolescents, and young adults. After graduating I opened T. Shire Counseling And absolutely love the work I do.
