About

I am a pre-licensed professional passionate about working with women battling low self-esteem and anxiety.

What can low self-esteem and anxiety look like? It can look like feeling pressure to have everything ‘just right’ or overachieving. It can also take the form of people pleasing and neglecting to take care of oneself.

You might be thinking, “Doesn’t everyone struggle with this? What made them decide it was time to get help?” I believe everyone deserves relief from these issues but major life transitions are often the initial reason that bring women into my care.

At Rowan Tree Counseling my goal is to have my clients feel empowered. My clients leave feeling this empowerment but also acknowledging their self-worth, freedom from unrealistic expectations, balance, and a meaningful and purposeful life.

I have spent the past eight years helping individuals understand their authentic self so that they can accept and grow. My journey so far includes:

B.A in Health and Counseling Psychology from Emmanuel College

M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University

Credentialed as a Nationally Certified Counselor

Individual, group, and couples counseling to individuals with mental health and substance use.

I am a candidate for becoming a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

When I’m not at my private practice, I work with adolescents with mental health and substance use disorders. Outside of work you can find me kickboxing, crafting, or enjoying a book curled up with my cat, Tonks.

Getting to know the people I work with is what I love most about my job. Each person is unique in their perspective and life story that they bring to their sessions. I enjoy hearing their histories and helping them discover new perspectives about who they are that help them reach their goals.

Frequently asked questions

When I am contacted by a potential new client we work together to find a time to schedule a brief phone consultation to go over what is bringing this person to therapy, answer any questions, and schedule the first session. During the first session we review more in depth the history of what the issue(s) is, review paperwork, and get to know each other. During the first session we will also discuss frequency of visits, though I always recommed attending counseling sessions weekly to start.
