The Middleburg Group, LLC
About
Dr. Margaret “Maggie” New has been offering career coaching for
over 30 years and she still loves her work. New founded The Middleburg Group, LLC
in 1996, One of her clients was The George Washington University where she subsequently was both
an Adjunct Professor as well as Associate Director of Graduate Student Career Development
at the Elliott School of International Affairs.
As a mentee of John Krumboltz at Stanford University, New believes in happenstance as
a career development theory with failing as part of the process of development. Her approach
is to help clients understand their values and work on skills that come naturally and have high interest.
She is particularly interested in building confidence, developing networking, communication, and empathy skills,
and building a strategic plan for designing the life you want to live.
New has been career coaching at the Foreign Service Institute and the Department of State. She
has also developed seminars in Salary Negotiation for Women and Designing your Life from
the Inside Out. She works easily with small groups or one-on-one coaching.
