I am a family therapist focused on working with couples. Our connections with others protect us and we are stronger when building and preserving loving relationships. Sometimes we get stuck - couples describe feeling frustrated with familiar, repeated patterns. In relationships we can become caught in negative interactions that we're fully aware of, but still get swept up in - with one person making demands and another withdrawing. For couples (dating, pre-marital, married), I prefer Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a researched and validated approach, which uses adult bonding as the basis for understanding and alleviating relationship problems (www.iceeft.com). I work to understand your experience and create a safe place for you to build new interactions.
