Rhonda Kay has trained specifically to help victims of physical and sexual assault learn to cope and heal from their horrific experiences. These victims, both male and female, children and adults, are taught to understand that setting goals for treatment is imperative to their recovery. Rhonda has experience with the reunification process for families where the offender has successfully completed treatment and the family wishes for unity. Additionally, she has taught parenting classes for both men and women at Interfaith Housing Coalition in Dallas, Texas; as well as play therapy and adolescent counseling. Rhonda leads Parent Support Groups where severe trauma has played a role in their lives. Rhonda, along with her dog Teddy, is registered with Pet partners as a therapy team to help provide comfort for those who enjoy the comfort of animals.

Rhonda kay has been an invited speaker for high school events designed to raise awareness of abuse and how it may appear in family and dating situations as well as a motivational speaker for various age groups as well as women's retreats with various church groups. She is a member of the Texas Counseling Association, Dallas Metro Counseling Association (former member and officer), and the Alpha Upsilon Delta chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (former member and officer) - a national honor society of psychology.

Rhonda Kay places much value in family, and in her Christian walk. She enjoys the company of her husband, Joel, her two sons, Nathan and Jacob, and the honorary members, Mollie and Teddy. When not at work, she enjoys walks with her husband and dogs at the park, and any gathering that includes her family. In addition, she is very active within her church, having previously taught Sunday School classes, and currently leading in an outreach ministry.

Teddy

Teddy is, along with Rhonda, registered with Pet Partners. He is a therapy dog who can provide comfort and emotional assistance to people of all ages. He specializes in helping people feel better. Teddy does a wonderful job helping those who have endured some sort of trauma.

Teddy became a part of our family in November of 2010, at about 7 weeks old, and has been a huge asset to our family ever since. We learned he is a Basset Hound/Dachshund Standard mix. He is very sweet and loves being around people of any age. He enjoys going to the doggy park and receiving treats. He is a good boy and looks forward to meeting you soon!
