How did you get started in this business?
I started out selfishly: I'm a OIF veteran and when I finished my tour I just wanted to be in a dark room with some soft music. I am a product of the healing effects of massage.
I started massage school in 2007, graduating in 2008, with the intention of just doing it to get through college. I completed my BA in 2012, and just couldn't bring myself to quit massage. I love it.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I worked the New Orleans training camp in 2016.
Last year I worked with Cirqu du Soleil (2019)
Some of my clients are professional athletes, but some are aspiring and need just as much work.
Most of my clients need rest and resilience.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find someone you are comfortable with. It doesn't matter if the person who referred them thinks they're amazing. If you aren't comfortable, it's not the right fit for you and that's okay. Keep looking.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Know what your expectations are and be able to verbalize them. Communication is key to getting a great massage.
