About
I have many years of practice via various avenues of professional work, such as special education, English as a Second Language, social work, Child Protective Services, and more. I have been helping others with their lives and relationships for over 20 years and am currently a part-time therapist for a Faith-based organization.
I truly enjoy helping people better their lives and situations. I enjoy helping families come together and become a unit again. I enjoy helping people strategize how to avoid explosive moments. I enjoy helping children find their voice and demonstrate assertiveness vs. anger outbursts. I enjoy helping couples, young and young-at-heart, rediscover each other and learn how to communicate.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I build a rapport with the client as this helps them feel at ease as well as helps with necessary background information. Next, we create a small number of goals that they are interested in achieving. Finally, we continue to build trust and work through each goal with the information shared in each session. As the client shares more information, I have more insight into such things as triggers, general relationship patterns, and overall life stressors, just to name a few examples. I primarily use cognitive challenging and refocusing, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and English (double major) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I have a Master's degree from Liberty University in Pastoral Counseling. I have one year as a social worker for the State of Tennessee in the Department of Children's Services. I have two years' experience as a social worker for Helen Ross McNabb. I have over ten years' experience as a special and general education teacher in private and psychiatric schools.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Out of pocket costs are $50 via venmo, cashapp, or paypal. I do not take insurance.
How did you get started in this business?
I began as an independent contractor in September 2019 due to my need to be more available to my young children as a single parent. I want to be with my children and I want to also help people.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with DCS cases, private insurance cases, and self pay cases. Many of those cases were supervised visitation, involved court orders, or were people who just wanted someone to talk to who would not judge them or their situation.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
No matter who you choose to serve you, be sure they are truly trying to help you. A great therapist will truly try to help you and also not judge you.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
1. Do I seek/need religious/spiritual help or strategies? (I can provide Christian or secular assistance.)
2. Is the therapist personable?
3. Will the therapist be honest?
3b. Am I ready for honesty?
