Kendra Wenzel Counseling

Hello! My name is Kendra Wenzel. I have a counseling practice in Sandy, Oregon at River Ridge Counseling Offices. I love my work as a child and teen expert, a connector, and advocate for holistic health.

Child and Teen Expert

I have several years of experience working with kids and teens as a teacher, coach, and counselor. There is nothing I love more than watching young people try their very best at hard things, and it’s my goal to help them discover their own potential to do so. I use a variety of techniques in working with kids and teens, both directive and non-directive. I am well acquainted with the unique challenges of working with young people and strive to be a supportive adult who can help kids and their families navigate family changes, depression, and anxiety.

Connector

I believe that sustainable change occurs when we are able to give and receive support from those around us. I work with individuals who are struggling to maintain meaningful relationships due to depression, anxiety, or life transitions. I come alongside my clients and assist them in identifying unhealthy relationship patterns and navigating difficult emotions with renewed courage and grace.

Advocate for Holistic Health

In addition to my clinical work, I am a registered yoga instructor. I believe that a person’s wellbeing is multi-faceted and I encourage clients to practice self-care in all areas in order to optimize healing. I utilize mindfulness practices and breathwork in my clinical work where appropriate helping clients feel safe in and connected with the body.

I love to hear stories from my clients and help them draw insight and meaning from past experience. I am inspired every day by the bravery and vulnerability of my clients, and it is my goal to help my clients practice this same courage outside of session in order to find the support and connection we all need in order to change.
