About

Therapy is my passion and my calling, not a job. When I am with a client, I am 100% present with them, without expectation or judgment. I see my role as one of listening to understand, guidance, providing an alternative perspective, teaching skills for coping with disordered thing, and assisting clients with reframing their negative perceptions and self talk. I worked many years as a medical clinical social worker in the fields of women's health, cancer, caregiving, and finally serious mental illness in the fields of geriatrics, veterans, trauma, and psychotherapy in general. I took early retirement from the Veterans Medical Center in Cleveland and have had my own private practice for 7 years. I specialize in CBT for anxiety, depression, and sleep issues, as well as anger management and early/ongoing recovery from drug and alcohol addictions. I offer group therapy as well as individual. I am currently only doing teletherapy until COVID infections slow down, then will be back in my office and/or traveling to my clients as usual.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to spend some time engaging with a new client so we can decide together whether we are a good fit. The therapeutic relationship is an important one, and a client must feel heard and that they matter. They also need to believe the therapist has the knowledge and skills required to help them with their problems.

I received my masters in social science administration from Case Western Reserve University, and did my internships and training at University Hospitals. I was hired full time by UH to work in their behavioral health units in both Geauga and Cleveland. I then spent a year on the bone marrow transplant team at Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland before joining the Veterans Medical Center to work as a Substance Use Disorder specialist and psychotherapist.
