About

Fully expect for me to ask your dog's name, quote a movie, or relate life meaning through the Harry Potter series at some point during our time together.

My passion lies in helping establish healthy self-esteem and positive body image in women of all ages. I also enjoy working with mom/daughter pairs. We live in an appearance-driven culture that has gotten beauty all wrong... let's make it right.

Additionally, I enjoy working with clients (adolescent to adult, female and male) who are finding themselves in the midst of "life struggles:" depression, anxiety, navigating a life change, a relationship difficulty, and so on. Maybe they would like many different areas of life to be easier and more fulfilled - but just aren't sure how to make that happen.

I am here to listen and find a plan that works for you.

I am honored to provide a place of respite to every client I see. I like to emphasize strengths, experiences, passions, and perspectives to learn about the person as whole, which is instrumental in healing.

It's an amazing thing to sit with a client and experience their emotions and life battles. It's an honor to see them grow and understand.

Megan is the single greatest therapist Ive ever had. She makes me feel heard and sane, and always gives me sound advice. She has a demeanor that makes you feel instantly comfortable and you feel like you can talk to her about anything. My weeks are always better when we meet. She has made a huge impact in my life and everyday thinking.

    Frequently asked questions

During our intial consultation, we will discuss your history and what lead you to the counseling experience (as well as any previous counseling you may have had). Together we will explore your unique stamp: your strengths, your values, and your beliefs. This will help construct a set of goals for your counseling experience, that will help shape the change you wish to see.

I studied Clinical Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Master of Arts), and was fortunate enough to work with Dr. Jennifer Webb's MIND-BATCH lab which focuses on researching body image issues related to culture and media.

This set a solid foundation for my own research, and lead me to founding my program: (every)Body Needs. This is a research based approach to overcoming a negative body image and establishing body positivity and self-love.

I have a flat rate of $75 per session but hold two spaces of a reduced rate for those that are seeking counseling but require sliding scale to do so.

My clients tend to be young adults, from teenage years to mid to late 20s, but I enjoy working with adults of all ages.

My clients have sought counseling because there are things in their lives that they are simply tired of - maybe they are tired of disliking their bodies and wish to live a life more fulfilled, maybe it is patterns with other people or relationships, maybe they are tired of living with the effects of depression and/do anxiety, or maybe it is a mix of many things.

Trust your gut! It's okay if you don't vibe with one person to try another. Goodness of fit is critical to an effective counseling experience.
