About

I work as part of a collaborative practice. This means that although clients at our practice are only working with one therapist, they actually get the brains of the other professionals there as well. This means that each week the staff do our own check ins, and we provide case consultation. So we are able to brainstorm more for our clients and bring that to our treatment. For example, it may look like, "I have a client struggling with anxiety, who has some effective coping skill ideas that I can share?" And the group connects to bring each client the best service.

I believe that being a counselor means walking alongside clients through a powerful journey, and I find it to be a major honor to join people along the way. Each person’s journey looks unique and different, and I am committed to making each step of the process as comfortable as possible for her clients.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to reach out to my clients before our scheduled session. This gives me the chance to briefly introduce myself and offer to answer any questions they have. The first session is often gathering background information, and the few sessions afterwards are assisting clients with developing a realistic treatment plan goals for the therapy process as well as establishing a relationship and getting to know the client even more.

I studied at Central Michigan University and received my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology degree as well as earning a minor in Family Lifestyles and Human Sexuality in 2010. Fire up, Chips!

I was always interested in working with people and explored various careers while still attending CMU. I learned about marriage and family therapy and counseling during my last two years at CMU and became very interested in this field.

I studied at Western Michigan University and earned my Master's of Arts in Counselor Education: Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling in 2017. I served as a family counselor for my internship at an agency and then continued working there for the start of my career. I now work as a counselor and marriage and family therapist with Lifeologie Counseling Grand Rapids and have been part of the team since January 2019.

Fees for counseling services are due at the time of the scheduled appointment. Fees range from billing client's insurance company to out of pocket costs which are anywhere from $90 to $130 per hour.

Counseling is for your benefit and should be structured for you. I encourage people to find a therapist they feel comfortable working with and are able to connect with on a therapeutic level. Shop around if you need to!

Feel free to ask questions about experience, training, educations, etc. for your therapist that you're trying to find.

Think about what you would like to focus on during your therapy process. Also, consider what you want your therapist to bring to the process, too. Explore if you are ready for therapy. It can be a difficult process, but a therapist should be there to guide you.
