My approach to therapy is to utilize a technique called Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. It is a cognitive therapy approach and is based on the idea that our thoughts create our moods and reactions. I will work with you to teach you how to recognize negative self thoughts and dispute them. REBT is a method that is helpful in short term therapy. Another technique I use is humor therapy. After all, if we cannot laugh we cannot move comfortably in life. Finally, I also use Happiness Therapy because we all want to be happy.
I enjoy helping people realize that they do not have to be controlled by others. I enjoy getting people to help themselves so they do not have to depend on me.

I set up an initial interview for evaluation purposes. I ask lots of "nosey" questions to get to know you and even allow you to ask me questions. If you have insurance I will take a copy of your insurance card. I you do not have insurance or would prefer not to use it (and you do not have to use insurance) then we discuss my fee, which is $40 per session. If you have financial problems we can discuss other arrabgements.
