About

Hi my name is Linda, I am a licensed professional clinical counselor with a certification in art therapy. I have a unique set of skills, including talk therapy, education, mindfulness, relaxation and art techniques. I have a casual, friendly, gentle approach to therapy, and I will meet you where you are. These are your sessions, and I ask clients to communicate to me what is working for them. I work with all types of people, children from 7 y/o, adolesents, 20 somethings, adults, couples and families. I especially enjoy helping indiviuals that might identify with being "very sensitive" and struggle with life and feeling, "enough". I love to reconnect clients with their bodies to control depression, anxiety, PTSD, with energy and relaxation work. Clients say my office is inviting and cozy and they feel safe to share their stories with me. Our conversations will be lively and include visual and action oriented solutions. I can help get you, "unstuck" !. You can check me out on my website at www.creativecounselingky.com.

The families we come from, the choices we have made and where we want to go to become happy in life is what my passion is. I believe this is my purpose in life and I feel blessed to hear a clients story, help them pull things apart, feel empowered, less overwhelmed, and be more in control. Helping families and couples have more compassion and become closer. I am a Christain and can include my understanding in sessions if that is a comfort for you. I hope you will call and chat with me a few minutes to see if I am a good fit for you!

Frequently asked questions

I like to have a few minutes on the phone with a patient to hear what they are struggling with as well as to see if I am a good fit. A first visit will consist of completeing paperwork, looking at what they want to work on first in therapy, getting to know each other and some history. We create a goal for the week depending on what the client is working on. I taylor fit sessions - education/handouts and action and visual techniques for that that individual. I encourage clients to ask questions, and continue to communicate about what is working and what we may need to "tweek", as well as a take away for the session.

I am a licensed professional Clinical Counslor, (LPCC) with a national certification in art therapy techniques, (ATR). I work with the body teaching relaxation and mindfulness techniques also. I am very visual so you will "see" lots of information in the form of drawings on my white boards, you may work on creative or mindful "fun activities" for homework, if you are open to that. I meet the client where they are and they feel comfortable. My background is in crisis counseling at a psychiatric hospital for almost 4 years, not much shocks me or is something I haven't worked with.

I do not accept insurance at this time and yes I have a standard fee for first session as well as a lower fee for each session after that. Please call for prices.

I worked with children teaching art privately and in schools for several years, I received my masters in 2012 worked in a Psychiatric hospital for almost 4 years with every population and in every dept. inpatient and outpatient. After two years there I started my private practice and haven't looked back! I love what I do and consider myself blessed to hear my clients stories.

I have worked with children, teens, twenty-somethings, adults, seniors, military and substance abuse. Individuals, couples and families.

A very flattering review a client wrote about me. I love to hear when this process works!

I would chose 3 people from what you see online and call them you should get a feel about them in a few minutes of conversation, usually you can judge, "ok this person is worth a first visit".

Have an idea of what days and times work for you. What you can spend comfortably. In a few words be able to let the therapist know what type of support you are looking for? If you are open to try different techniques.
