Ashley Reed, M.S., MFT
About
I have a passion for people and it's fueled by my desire to see others acheive satisfaction with self, life, and relationships. I consider it a privilege to work with each of clients, navigating challenges like relational conflict, communication barriers, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and the list goes on.
My role as a therapist is always to help, but the way in which I help depends on the clients needs and the way in which they prefer to be engaged. It is my initial goal to build a trusting relationship, in which clients feel comfortale being themselves and sharing their truths. I use a relaxed,non-judgemental approach, and may add some humor from time to time.
In addition to private practice, I work part-time as a community counselor servicing children and adolescents in foster care and under care of DFACS. This experienced has helped to incresase my exposure and understanding of teens and blended families.
Also, as part of my degree requirements, I completed a year-long internship an outpatient facility for Eating Disorders. This was a priceless experience that allowed me to gain a deep understanding of not only eating disorders, but also other mental health diagnosis.

What I enjoy most about working with clients is the therapy process and the results. There's is nothing like the first or several times in which a client sees hope in a situation they thought would never change. Witnessing clients realize their own strengths and power to cultivate the life and relationships they want, is powerful.
I'm all about client empowerment! I get a great since of joy when an my clients start to acheive their individual goals, reconnect in relationships, and take back their lives.
