About
Hello! I am Latifah and my business promotes transformation through education, insight, and behavioral change. I have a Master's Degree from Antioch University in Education and Counseling, and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Substance Abuse from Nova Southeastern University, with over 40 years of clinical and professional experience. My counseling/coaching approach is tailored to the needs of each individual. I regard the counseling/coaching experience as being uniquely sacred and I place importance on creating a safe environment with key ingredients, such as acceptance, empathy, active listening, curiosity and even humor. I believe in the role that counseling/coaching can play on professional development, emotional health, and I incorporate these principles into my work with clients.
I enjoy fostering a relationship with individuals that allows for the discovery of something of value within themselves; and the capacity to use the relationship as a receptive container that pours forth compassion and understanding. In return I get the pleasure of observing another individual's growth and development.

What types of customers have you worked with?
My clients are adults, and children both male and female, Some of my clients have mental, emotional & behavioral problems. Describe a recent event you are fond of.
When I was employed as a college professor, I developed an instructional manual for entry level students entering the university. (Strategies for Success) workbook. The development of the project took me a school year to put all of the pieces together and pilot the course. I still use some of those materials in workshops and seminars teaching strategies for success.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would suggest that any customer looking to hire a provider in my area of work to first explore your individual needs and the type of support that's best, next check out the bios, credentials, training and experience. Then I would recommend having a conversation with the provider to determine if this is a person that you can truly relate to.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I think that customers should think about their needs, concerns and desires or at least be open to the idea of gaining new information or a different perspective. A customer must see value in seeking support before discussing details with other professionals.
