Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In general, a client will outreach me by phone or email at which time I inquire about their therapeutic goals to ensure I will be an appropriate fit and I answer any questions they may have. If the client feels comfortable and our schedules match, we set up an initial appointment. At the inital appointment, we will go over symptoms and concerns in greater detail and set treatment goals. Following sessions allow me to utilize effective treatment methods to guide the client toward recovery.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with my master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado after which time I worked in community mental health for 5 years before opening my own private practice. I hold national certification (NCC) and am a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I hold specialty certification in the treatment of trauma, bereavement, and anxiety (EMDR trained, GC-C, and CCTP).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I am able to accept some insurances including Tricare, United, Rocky Mountain Health Plan, Cigna, Mines and Associates, and Compsych. For those clients paying out-of-pocket, I offer both a flat-fee and sliding scale which I'm happy to discuss with you before our initial appointment.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I offer professional counseling services to adults on am individual basis. We will discuss what you hope to accomplish from counseling before our initial session to ensure I will be a good fit for you.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
When looking for a counselor, it is important to ensure they are licensed to ensure high quality care.
