Being a creative art therapist, I have a different approach to therapy than most psychotherapists who only talk. I find that working with art materials provides a catalyst for the therapy process. Working with the materials while talking opens up doors that simply talking just does not unlock.
I specialize in Addiction Counseling and Trauma Work.
I love seeing the smile on my client's faces when they have achieved understanding through the art-making experience.
I have created with Natalie for nearly a year. She's very caring and kind. She has a gift that brings out the artist in me that I though I never had. After every session I leave feeling great about myself.
Natalie’s art therapy was by far my favorite group when I was a patient at Cedar. It was an awesome break from having to do uncomfortable work of looking at myself, digging up the past, process groups, lectures, etc. Although art therapy is all of that, you just don’t realize it is going on. Natalie has a way of making you feel comfortable and relaxed and not worried about artistic ability. I love the music she plays. Every time is different with all types of medium... water colors, acrylic paint, oil pastels, clay, jewelry, tissue paper, masks, tie dye, and more. I have known Natalie since 2013 when I was it patient at Cedar. Now I still am able to benefit from her art therapy working at Lotus Lodge Sober Living. She comes over to the house for art therapy groups with our clients. The women are always excited to see what she has planned for that day. It is always interesting to see how their moods change throughout the group. I even notice it with myself, if I come in stressed out or not in a great mood I always leave feeling better and learned something new. Natalie is an amazing and very talented art therapist.
Natalie is professional and very compassionate. Her ability to connect and really listen is why I like working with her.
She's open and sincere. I trusted her to talk to about what was affecting my life. Natalie helped me so much!
I like to begin with a brief initial call or online consultation to be sure that I will meet my client's needs.
