Melida I Gonzalez L.Ac., Dipl.O.M.

​I am a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist practicing in Bankers Hill, San Diego, California. I’m fluent in English and Spanish. I graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, where I earned a Master's of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) and became certified by the NCCAOM with a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine. I spent a trimester in Beijing, China studying Mandarin Language at BLCU University, and learning more about the Chinese culture.

My education in Oriental Medicine included Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Nutrition, Tai Chi and Biomedicine. With more than 7 years in practice my experience includes treating a variety of ailments including sports injuries, orthopedics, pain management, infertility and cosmetic acupuncture with the use of acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, and various other modalities.

I also had the opportunity to work as an Intern at San Diego Hospice and the Institute of palliative care and learned about treating patients with AIDS, Cancer and other life-limiting illness addressing their physical and emotional needs. I see herbal medicine as an important resource for restoring one's health, and I utilize herbal prescriptions in conjunction with acupuncture and nutrition to balance the body from within.
