About
I am a licensed Psychotherapist (MFC 52922) in the state of California. I work with men and women 18 and over in a private practice setting. I mostly work one-on-one with individual clients, but I also see couples and families. I provide therapy over video for those who are unable to meet me at my office, on a case-by-case basis. I use HIPAA compliant platforms (VSee and Doxy.me). I offer ecotherapy (outdoor-based psychotherapy) when appropriate.
My office address is 3852 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland CA 94611. There is street parking on the side streets, and metered parking on Piedmont Avenue. The closest BART station is McArthur.
I am currently in-network with HealthNet, MHN, TRICARE, and TriWest/VA; and I am an out-of-network provider for PPO plans.
As a clinician, I am compassionate, non-judgmental, and collaborative. Together, we will identify your goals and how best to achieve them. I tend to be fairly active in sessions, providing feedback and suggestions.
My theoretical orientation is Humanistic/Eclectic. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions when appropriate; typically for anxiety, depression, and addictions. I am tool-oriented, and I can provide a variety of suggestions on workbooks, audio recordings, homework exercises, meditation techniques, and community resources. I also offer 12 step support which mean I help people navigate 12 step programs if they are interested in joining them.
I am passionate about wellness and mental health.
