Family Perspectives, LLC
About
Communication problems, fighting, unfaithfulness, lying, pornography, distrust, loneliness, emotional distress, not seeing eye to eye...? Effective solution focused therapy available for individuals, couples, & families. While therapy can be hard my clients appreciate the movement they are finally able to make and the relief to not stay in pain.
Clients like that I am goal oriented. I don’t just listen. I provide tools, tips, statistics, and feedback. My style is a mixture of listening, exploring, and teaching. I am empathetic, nonjudgmental, and caring. Clients have told me they would not have wished their pain on anyone but if they hadn't been through it they wouldn't have made it to therapy and wouldn't be at the wonderful place they got to at the end of therapy so it was worth it.
I believe we can all improve. Often times we need to learn new skills or be given the environment where healing and awareness can be cultivated. I believe in meeting people where they are at and being creative. For years we have offered walk and talk therapy, teletherapy and in-home therapy where we could visit someone who was not able to go to the office due to physical reasons, childcare, or where it made more sense to be out of the office such as meeting a teen at the home to shoot hoops so that they don’t feel like they are sitting in a sterile doctor’s office. I also work in collaboration with Matt Slavsky with teens and families or if I'm full, offering a male perspective, especially for teen boys.
It feels good when clients finally receive the help they need. To see people in pain and without answers leave each time feeling motivated and finally with hope and skills to know how to make changes while having someone to help walk with them. It took me many years to acquire my skills and I enjoy people, so it's easy and invigorating for me to share what I've learned throughout the years. I have a passion for people feeling heard and cared for. Some people haven't felt heard in their relationship, as an adult, or even as a child. I'm grateful for a profession where I can help people have a voice and direction and start feeling better.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Call me. We decide if it's a good fit. We schedule. Client fills out paperwork and meet on an agreed day/time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BA in Psychology
MA in Social Work
I am licensed at the highest level for a Social Worker, so that I can practice clinically and independently.
As an LCSW I receive ongoing training on a yearly basis, trainings that relate to the work I do. I naturally enjoy learning more about psychology, personal, and relationship skills outside of formal trainings.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My fees have a range between $110- $220. There are other fees if I serve as an expert witness or am going out of area for walk and talk therapy or in home therapy. Clients often times enjoy longer sessions, especially for couples therapy. When there is a crisis such as an affair, those clients often benefit from and desire longer sessions in the beginning as they probably haven't been through it before and I can help them to know what to do for healing before they make too many mistakes.
How did you get started in this business?
I have always enjoyed the helping field. My first jobs before my career were serving and in mental health alone with volunteering in third world countries.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My specialty is relationship issues.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy finishing treatment plans with clients where they can see the progress they have made and "graduate" out of therapy. Usually people fade out of therapy as they feel better but when we get to wrap up nicely with a review of their progress and to make sure we didn't miss anything that's always quite nice.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Go with your gutt. Make sure they specialize or have a good amount of experience in the issue you are looking to receive help for. Belief systems should match. We aren't all the same in how we work.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Typical questions are availability, fees and how long treatment should last. I can guide them through questions and I always ask what they are wanting to be seen for so I know if it's within my area of expertise.
