While I do have plenty of education to support me, my true assets come from life experiences that allow me to connect and relate to my clients quickly and give them hope. I am also a strong proponent of personal responsibility as I don't believe change is possible until we are able to identify and correct what we are personally responsible for in each situation. Only then can we empower ourselves to do something different than what we've done. As a therapist, I believe that most mental health issues are sourced from a lack of sense of self, meaning that emotional disturbances develop when a person is not comfortable with who they are. The road to healing and recovery requires that we develop that.
Doing therapy is a very challenging profession because the therapist has to wade through years of dysfuntional thinking about self and the environment. I truly enjoy seeing the lightbulb shine when people are able to connect those dots and become the instrument of their own change.

A no cost telephone consultation is available to the client to discuss therapeutic style, expectations and roles. If the client wishes to move forward, they will be provided documents to complete and a treatment plan will need to be created. This is called an assessment session which is billed at the same rate as a therapy session and must be done before therapy can begin. Most therapy, if the client implements what is discussed during therapy, can be completed in 6-10 sessions.
