Total Ideal U Psychotherapy And Consulting
About
I have been a practicing social worker for fourteen years. I am licensed in California and Tennessee to provide clinical therapeutic services to children, adults, couples and families. My approach is integrative and collaborative with each client that walks through my door. I am bilingual and bicultural and have received extensive training in culturally and linguistically relevant evidence-based practice, however, I balance that with ongoing professional development in psychodynamic, transpersonal, spiritual and native healing approaches. I also integrate body-oriented energy work such as reiki, breathing retraining and somatic awareness when appropriate. My specialty is working with biracial individuals in identity-development and consolidation. I also provide therapy for therapists, clinical supervison and clinical consultation for individuals out of state. My desire is to continue to bring the breadth of my experience and skills to continue to help my community thrive and succeed.
My therapeutic approach and application is collaborative and client centered. I believe clients are experts in their own lives and the therapeutic space as an opportunity to help clients express choices that are integral to their culture, values, needs and wishes.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I think the initial process of engaging with potential clients very important. That's why I offer holistic assessment services as part of the initial phase of therapy when potential clients agree to wok with me. This involves getting to know the client and having the client get to know me in order to build a collaborative relationship and agree on the focus of the work together. This is a time for questions and active discussion about goals and expectations for the work to be done and often sets the stage of trust and partnership.
