Dr. Michelle Yan, DSOM, LAc. is an Oregon Medical Board and NCCAOM certified doctor of Chinese medicine and acupuncturist. She was born in Singapore and is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese, so she practices directly from the knowledge of the ancient masters. I enjoy customizing my treatments to fully meet the patients' needs. I know and use a wide range of treatment modalities, from the use of acupuncture needles, cupping, guasha and moxibustion to essential oils, tuning forks, non-insertion needles. My range is broad as I can do deep-tissue needling for relieving tight muscles and inflexible calves and hips, as well as very gentle, non-insertion needling techniques which usesessential oils, gemstones tools and tuning forks for working with stress, anxiety and over-sensitivity. Ultimately, I get the greatest satisfaction from being able to meet the patients where they are at, for their need in healing, and pride myself by giving effective treatments that do not require long-term visits.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each session will start with a comprehensive intake physical examination, as well as asking pertinent questions about your medical history (and of the pain). Then there will be Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis and channel palpation. And finally we will come up with a treatment plan. Treatment includes the use of acupuncture needles, gemstone and metal teishins (non-insertion needles), essential oils, tuning forks, cupping and guasha (Chinese medicine fascial work).
Each session is crafted and personalized to meet your specific needs. When the session is complete, you will emerge shining and radiating within your inner light, feeling more ease and less pain. You will feel deeply reconnected you your inner resources and enthused about engaging in the world.
