Nurturing Connections Family Therapy
About
At Nurturing Connections Family Therapy, attachment theory serves as the foundation for all services, and provides the building blocks for emotional regulation, empowerment and family connection. This approach to treatment spurs parents and caregivers to be curious and ask what is the need underlying the behavior? Evidence based interventions such as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Trauma and Loss in Children, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Resiliency Model and somatic sensory based therapy activities are utilized in conjunction with the overall attachment framework to navigate and process trauma safely.
I have had the privilege of previously working at Vera House stationed at the McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center providing trauma therapy for the past 6+ years. I am trained in TRM Level 1 & 2 (Trauma Resiliency Model Level 1 & 2, TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, TRM Trauma Resiliency Model.
Due to my personal journey as a foster parent and adoption I feel a strong connection and understanding to families navigating some of the highs and lows of these life experiences. Providing support and witnessing children, families and individuals grow through traumatic experiences is a great joy and something I feel blessed to continue here.
